Any reason to replace coils?

Any reason to replace coils?
I just did a plug change on my 2007 XLT, with the 5.4 flex engine. I bought plugs and coils online. The coils turned out to be the wrong ones, with the angle, wrong mounts and clips. Stupid me did not look at the new coils until I had everything apart and all the coils and plugs out.
Long story short, I put the new plugs in with the stock old coils. They have about 50,000 mile on them. The truck runs even better now. It wasn't missing or anything before. So any reason to not just keep the stock coils in there? Do these coils last a long time?
P.S. I got every plug out without a single breakage. Did it on a cold engine that sat for a day and the plugs soaked with PB blaster for 3 hours.

Some have said that performance can possibly degrade over time, but from what research I've done and personal experience, that's degradation is extremely low; I'd argue unnoticeable. At a minimum, not enough to justify the cost to replace them 'just for the sake of replacing them'. In other words, the vast majority concensus is replace them when they go bad.

I ended up buying Replacement brand, part number "REPF504613 Ignition Coil" from the website www.carpartswholesale.com. They were only $53 for a set of 8. The website is confusing though, so many different parts for the vehicle and they say all of them fit.
I also bought the "MISP507" Motorcraft spark plugs from them too. Hopefully those were correct! I looked up info on this site and someone posted a link to a Ford parts catalog. Those are the plug numbers listed for the 5.4 Flex fuel engine.

SP507's will work fine, but the current recommendation is for SP515 ($9.45 each at rockauto.com).
I've never seen DG511 replacements that cheap. Our current recommendations are OEM Motorcraft at rockauto.com for $43.79 each or Visteons on Ebay for $24.49 each or 8/$179.99. Even generic replacements on Ebay are around 90 bucks a set, and people have been having mixed results with them.

There is no reason to ever replace them till you start having a miss. Then replace that one, unless you are having a different one go bad every other day. Then just replace them all with the stock Motorcraft COPs and they will normally last longer then ANY of the aftermarket ones will . Plus, you will see or feel NO improvement from running any aftermarket COP.
