2015 Eco-Boost Power Bump Figures?

Just read an article about the re-designed 2015 Navigator getting a 3.5 EcoBoost V6 with 370HP & 430 Lb Ft of Torque! Could these figures be in line for the 2015 F=150?

Ugly, eh? lol

I doubt you will even notice an extra 5 hp and 10 ft-lbs of torque.

C'mon super,

AK only asked a question. No need to get snarky. And yeah MGD, I don't think that will be enough to sneeze at in that heavy of a vehicle lol

Note that the article says "AT LEAST" 370/430.

Why does RI even care? Seems all he would ever buy in a truck is a "big block" V8 the way he's been posting lately.

That article is nothing but a few bad photochops and speculation by someone that knows very little about cars. He threw some poo at the wall hoping some of it would stick and get a few clicks.

The interior pic is a 2009+ F-150 with a Lincoln dash grafted onto it. The door panels, shifter, console and seat are straight from the current F-150. The 2015 models are different.

Secondly there's this gem, Replacing the 5.4-liter V8 in the current Navigator is a version of the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 used in the Lincoln MKS and MKT, here with at least 370 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. The EB in the trucks is very different than the car EB.

A 5Hp 10Ft-Lb bump isn't worth fooling with. There's a lot more power in just using the 3" Raptor exhaust system. I haven't seen anything from Ford about power increases. Most of it is just hack "journalists" throwing crap out to sell stories.

Hopefully. If the big EcoBoost gets a little jump this will provide more separation between the 3.5 and the 2.7 and 5.0 and give more breathing room for the 2.7 to have some good power. The 2.7 EcoBoost will be the best engine Ford ever had. Best combination of power, fuel economy, durability, and price.

Any bump may only be a change in marketing to reflect actual test numbers. New trucks may already have been running at that level, just catching up and using the model year change to promote it.

You should definitely feel the difference between the new and old EcoBoosts with the weight that has been saved. 600-700 lbs lighter. It will also have start stop and active grille shutters for fuel economy. The little extra hp and torque is icing on the cake.

I'm pretty sure the 2.7L is the only one getting start/stop this time around. Active grille shutters should show up across the board I believe.

Just wait until the 10 speed tranny hits this thing in '16-'17!

I'm sure the power numbers will be the same as current trucks for the first year / year and a half. After that my best guess is Eco will go 420hp/450Tq (GM has a 3.6TT making 420/430?) 5.0 will go 390hp/400tq, 2.7 300hp/320tq, and 3.5 with 260hp/240tq

I wouldn't be surprised if Ford did update the 3.5 EB until Toyota/Nissan release their updated power trains. 2016-2018 will be very interesting

GM's new 6.2L just doesn't compare to the 3.5L EB... I mean they are close but the EB wins in the towing department.
