my 36,000 mile mark is getting here quick on my 2015 F150. I'm looking at a warranty policy like endurance. has anyone else looked at or tried this approach? I put close to 3,000 miles a month on my truck for our nonprofit, and know I need to make a choice, quick

 

If you've determined that you want to spend the money on a warranty, buy an actual Ford warranty. The best prices are online, and here is where I bought one for my 2008 F250 just before the 36k warranty was up:

I really can't say about the Ford extended warranty but MOST extended warranties aren't worth the paper that they're written on! Go read them, they only cover things that seldom fail like the engine BLOCK, the BARE cylinder head, transmission CASE, etc and never the parts that usually fail. Even if your failure includes one of the specifically named items, GOOD LUCK collecting on it! You don't have to spend much time researching to find thousands of complaints about extended warranties that simply refuse to pay out, even for items that were specifically covered. Save your money and use it to pay for routine maintenance and repairs as needed, it will save you money in the long run. If you're determined to buy an extended warranty get one from Ford and double check the paper work before paying since stealerships are notorious for selling brand-X warranties and telling the customer that it is a (fill in your car brand here) warranty. They fudge (lie) by saying that it covers (fill in your car brand here) even though it's NOT through (fill in your car brand here).

 

Some states (Florida for example) REQUIRE you to buy the warranty from the dealership. Specifically a dealership IN your state.

You can buy the Ford warranty cheaper from some dealers, but some states legislate you HAVE to buy it in-state.

So buyer beware.

I bought the extended ford warranty for my 2005 F-150 and got quite a lot of use out of it. My truck is now 1 year old and approaching 30k miles, so I will be doing it soon.

Of course, this truck is a LOT better than my 2005. I have had zero issues with my 2015 to date except an issue with Sync.

My 2005 by the time my warranty was expiring, I had chronic front brake problems (took 5 tries to fix it), drive shaft (actually slip yoke) and an air conditioning issue. So I felt I needed it...

Ironically AFTER my extended warranty expired, I had little to no issues with that truck.

 

Last time I priced out a Ford Premium Care warranty for my 2016 7 years 100,000 was over $3000!!!!!!!

 

You get what you pay for...

The one for my 2005 was like $1200, I got the 6 year 100,000 mile one. But it didn't cover all the electronics

 

So I am at a point where I finally have to make a decision on this myself. Am at 35289 right now.

I priced the ESP plans and holy ****, they have really gone up in price since I bought the last one in 2007 for my 2005 truck.

Anyone else have anything to say about third party extended warranty plans?

Ford's cheapest plan is over $2000 and does not cover much.

 

Go ahead and find any consumer watchdog group anywhere that thinks one of these warranties is a good idea. Not sure what more you could expect to find on a forum. If warranty coverage is that much of a deal, you may want to look into the 5year/100,000 mile bumper to bumper of the new Titan. My hope is that their warranty will give them some success and others will follow suit, but not holding my breath.

 

The only problem with that is the purchasing of a Titan. LOL

 

My Credit Union offers extended warranties that are great and cost less.....check with your bank.
