I reached the MPG of the window sticker on my EB!!!
There are a few threads in the V6 section of people complaining about how ford lied to them about the fuel mileage on the window stickers of the eb. Most of these are Eb owners with a few non-eb owners agreeing how the eb wont get anywhere close to the advertised mpg.
So i am making a Good Thread on the EB fuel mileage!
My window sticker shows 18 combined and 22 Hwy
My truck is a 13 2wd Eb 3.55 rearend,26 gallon tank, with the stock 265/60/18 michelin tires
When i left town i drove the speed limit all the way to San Antonio.. That was 70,75,and 80mph limits. When i finished the 200 mile trip i was sitting at 18.5 mpg.
I filled up and coming back went the exact same way and put the cruise on 68mph for the whole trip and NEVER looked at the mpg part of the computer until i got home (i had it on the offroad screen) When i pulled up in the driveway i switched to the mpg and was very shocked.
Here is the proof
For the combined mileage my trip b shows 17.9 with almost 29,000 miles on the truck. So i am .1 off of the 18mpg ford shows on the sticker.
I did not make this thread to start a pissing match, Just wanted to show that driving easily the eb can get the advertised numbers.
I also surprised with the 400 miles to empty especially after driving 200 miles and just below 3/4s of a tank
Anyone else have close to advertised numbers or numbers that you are happy with?

I have too, but usually get told its not a fair comparison cause its all flat land. So this trip was even more proof that they can get good mileage cause this was through the hill country with some pretty good size hills for atleast 100 miles. Even a few 9 percent grades. Not like i was cruising west texas flat roads the whole way. If i were i couldve got 23 pretty easy driving 68mph

Now if you had the eb with that kinda mileage then you would have to complain

Alright Fellers, Im sure some have looked at this thread and said to themselves "well that's just a lieometer he didn't really get that"
so here it is!
I went and filled up this morning. waited for the pump to click off, then i did another 1 click and hung the pump up.
It Held 10.189 Gallon, Odometer showed 225.3
So that comes out too 22.11 MPG

How following a government defined test process is marketing or a lying issue by a car manufacturer is beyond me. When these tests were invented the speed limit was 55 MPH. They are never going to change the test to 70 MPH.
What speed drivers choose to maintain has nothing to do with the test unless its 55 MPH, on flat ground, with properly inflated stock tires, no traffic, etc.

I'm averaging in the mid 17's and on a straight highway run at 55 to 65 mph I've hit as high as 20.5 so I'm satisfied with that. Planning a long trip in a few month's so I'll get a better idea on what the truck will do on a 65 to 70 mph ride. I'm noticing a gain at highway speed's since I put on the bed cover plus running Valero instead of Shell is seeming to help out a bit too. I only have 2,400 miles on the truck so it's probably not at the max mpg mileage either.

I think it's 21 and that's good enough for me for a heavy 4x4 Screw. We usually take a trip to the wife's sister's house in Maryland once a year so that ought to give me a good straight run. Last year with my '11 Lariat I averaged 18.1 for the 2,600 mile round trip that took me as far as Cape May, N.J.
