Popping / Creaking Noises in Rear End of 2009 KR

I'm having loud popping and creaking noises in the rear end of my 2009 supercrew king ranch. I took it to the dealer and they oiled / cleaned the rear leaf spring. They said there was a technical service bulletin on this, but that nothing was wrong. After one day the noise has returned and is very annoying. My 2001 supercrew never had this problem in 105,000 miles. Anyone else know of this problem?

Is it the 6.5' box? Seems like there is a driveshaft issue with a tsb coming soon.

I already did that. They told me it was normal. I guess I will take it to another dealer.

Where are you located and what dealer have you been taking it to? I'm sure some would like to know what dealer to avoid. My dealer (Bankston Ford in Burleson) always takes good care of me.

I had the same popping noise with my 09 screw. Took it in and they said they had tsb about dirt in the leaf springs. I was like yea right, I figured I would have to bring it back cause that could not be the cause. lol

Well it has been good ever since. I would like to see the tsb, but when I picked up the truck I was in a hurry.

Just take it to another dealer and tell them to do that tsb and you will be good.

Jennings Anderson Ford in Boerne, TX is the dealer I took the 09 screw to. They said there was a tsb about dirt in the leaf springs. I could not find it listed on alldata. They cleaned / oiled the leaf spring and it was good for only one day.

I took mine to Sam Packs in Carrollton, Tx. I have to go back for another issue soon. So I will ask about what they did, it has not returned since.

702200 - nvh noise concern -- rear

Special service messages

20881 2009 f-150 may exhibit a creak/squeak type of noise from the rear suspension. Some 2009 f-150 vehicles may experience a creak/squeak type of noise from the rear suspension. If this is encountered then inspect both rear leaf springs front and rear clinch clips for clearance to spring. Verify there is a 3/32 - 5/32 of an inch (1.0 - 1.5 mm) side-to-side clearance between clinch clip and spring. If hard contact exists, then open clinch clip using an adjustable pliers. Wrap electrical tape on the jaws to avoid damaging clinch clip isolators and/or coating. Place adjustable pliers on the top end of the clinch clip and slightly bend outwards to obtain 3/32 - 5/32 of an inch (1.0 - 1.5 mm) side-to-side clearance. Be careful not to damage clinch clip. Do not apply lubricant to clinch clip isolators.

Took the KR back to Jennings Anderson Ford. They replaced the rear leaf springs. Said there was excessive clearance. Hopefully this solves the noise issue for good.

OK - with new rear leaf springs the creaking noises are gone! Don't know if anyone is still reading this post, but if things change I'll let you know. Hopefully, this is it and the problem is solved for good. For reference, I have 6,000 miles on the 2009 KR now.

My 2010 F150 SCREW with 7000kms was in the shop yesterday for the 3rd time for this problem. First time they lubed the rear springs and shakles squeak went away for a day. Second time the replaced the rear leaf springs and hardware. Noise came back shortly afterward. In the shop yesterday they disassembled and lubed rear leafs again. I made sure to jump on the back of the truck to see if the noise was still there. It was even worsr than before so I got the sales and service manager to come out and have a look. They are stumped to what the problem is. Unfortunate part is we do not have lemon law in Canada. Don't know what to do now? Any suggestions?
