I received the notice yesterday in the mail. Right now I only have 3100 miles on my '05 with the 5.4, so I'm banking on the idea that I will never have to change the plugs on this truck in my lifetime.....

However, I will say that the thought has occurred to me to go ahead and have the plugs changed anyways as a preventative measure while the mechanics in today's shops are still familiar with the issue and have gotten down the routine of getting these plugs out with minimal issues.....

Hmm, I got the letter today also.. Too bad I already changed them out with a friend of mine. Thankfully they all came out easily with no issues. I guessing my low mileage and cpl bottles of Techron helped.

I will say I'm grateful to have them removed and have piece of mind thinking I never have to deal with this issue or wonder when I finally did it what the result would have been. Get them out guys..

I don't believe this in any way diminishes the value of my truck. My '07 has maybe 53K miles ..... if they come out easy as I expect them to, I'll have no need of this letter ..... but for now I placed it in the console. Deadline after receiving notice .... 02-27-17.

Plan I to change this coming Spring ..... maybe she'll have 55K by then?

I got one in the mail, but since I never changed plugs on my 05 (lease was over and the truck only had 15K on it) or the 07 (traded it with 39K) I tossed the notice into the circular file.

I just got one in the mail also. My plugs have never been changed out on my 2006, I'm at 81,000. I'm wondering if maybe Ford will change them out for me, at a discounted price, if I call the dealership service dept.. I got a quote a couple months back from a local shop here in Tucson, for $525.

If none of them break, a plug change should NOT cost more than $300.

Each dealership has it's own prices. My dealership said plug change was $390.

Two dealers wanted over $400 base price plus $47 a cyclinder if they break.

I changed them myself...broke 7 of 8 12hrs later up and running.

Another notice in the mail here. As little as I have driven my truck this year ( 700 some miles since spring ) I slightly strayed away from this page oddly. I have yet to change my plugs on my 2007, mileage is 125,7xx. So i'm SOL anyway. I'm not that scared, proper procedure and preparation is all I need.

With our half ton F-150s holding value with GM & Dodge 2500 trucks ( gasoline ) I too am not worried at all about value hurting worse than the standard yearly decline.

I got the letter for my 05 and my brother got it for his 08, but his has the different color boots, so should be updated plugs.

I changed mine earlier this year at 37,000 miles along with the injectors. Didn't break any.
I think my brother is up to 19,000 miles...

FWIW.
From spark plugs? Naaaah!

Besides, when its time to trade up to another truck I'll have gotten my money's worth out of this one.
Believe me.
