Making a little progress ... Saleen hood, lowered 4wd, grill, etc...

Getting close to completing the truck for now.... here's the latest pics . Getting rid of all the chrome on my 06 Lincoln Mark lt was a chore lol... Lowered with Belltech, Saleen hood, 14' mirrors, painted chrome rockers, painted door handles, painted bumpers, painted tail gate handle with camera, painted Lincoln grill insert black, custom hood vent, 22" dub skillz going on after winter.

Before pic...

Looks much better. You going to tint those mirror reflectors?

I must say that looks really good. I'm don't know why the lt's never came with a ptm option.

Looks good. I take it the bumper swap didn't work?

Because Lincolns are about chrome, not PTM. Never understood why the LT was ever made in the first place. The Blackwood was one thing . . . a one-off luxury truck. There's just no point to it with as many lariat/H-D/KR/platinum/etc luxury versions that the F-150 had. That being said, I think the truck looks okay, but I would have gone white with the grill instead of black, but I'm not a big fan of the verticle-bar grill anyway.

Lincoln truck for me made sense to buy used since the resale value on Lincoln's in my area are not near as good as F150's and was able to get the pearl white, better quality leather and even carpet, and was a one owner truck that was well maintained. To me, the grill is a accent so I didn't want it to blend with the truck but wanted it to flow with the hood vent and other black accents. Also wanting to use as much oem parts as possible and going with a oem F150 grill looks outta place because of the Ford oval that's centered in the middle. Allot of aftermarket grills look cheap, so did what I thought was tasteful in my opinion. I did try to use other grills but it didn't flow....

The Harley bumper didn't work ;( I tried for so long exhausting every effort but the shape of the upper pad were completely different between the two and couldn't justify doing the fab work that it would take to make it right. Check out how much difference there is in width and gap in center !!! Oh well, we tried

Oh I don't blame you for buying the LT, I was just speaking of the idea behind Lincoln/Ford producing them in the first place!

That's good you got it for a better deal on the lt. They are usually priced 3-5 more around these parts. I'm also really digging the black grille. My parents have an 06 lt as well, but theirs has the rectangle fogs. Any idea as to what determines the shape of the fog lights?

Thankyou ! It's most likely a very early 06. From what I know, 04-05 F150/ Mark LT's had rectangle fogs and switched to round in 06. The next change came in 07 with the rockers painted and adding the Mark LT badging on the side , then a new design headlight assembly in late 07 through 08 trucks. Hope this helps ")

I think the 07-08 LTs were some of the nicest trucks made. There's a black one up here with the square headlights and 6.5' bed, would be the sweetest truck...

Not sure if this is off the topic of the thread, if it is, feel free to pm me, but what was your process with painting the bumpers? Are you pretty confident it will hold up? I just have a white 04 f150 with chrome bumpers that I would love to ptm. Personally, not a fan of the lt's style usually, but I can appreciate tasteful work and you accomplished just that! Any other plans for it down the road?
