anyone have a low profile toolbox installed?

I need a low profile tool box but I'm worried it's gonna make the bed look really short since it is already.
I've got a black supercrew and was thinking about a black low profile UWS toolbox, can anyone else with a screw and low profile toolbox post pics?
Especially if you've got a black box.
Thanks

I have a UWS low profile (deep) black box but its on a SCAB.

In the "mods" section of my signature I have listed the model number because it is not the model that UWS suggests in there catalog to fit, but I believe it fits a lot better than the model they list to fit. It has a snugger fit with almost no gaps between the bed rails.

There are pics in MY GALLERY, link below.

Blah... now I can't decide if I want black or regular aluminum finish.
I figure it might as well get the aluminum since there is so much chrome on my truck already.
But I don't really want it to stick out.
But it probably won't matter anyway since the box only stick up like 2 or 3 inches, right?

I would go with the black. The aluminum will tend to dull over time where the black will maintain it's look much longer.

I have a low profile toolbox from Challenger in my truck. I have a 6.5' bed and it doesn't look small at all. It's a polished aluminum finish and hasn't dulled in the 2 years I've had it. I wish I had pics but I don't. I think I paid $350 for it.

With your big silver wheels and silver nerf bars I think the aluminum colored box would look the best, although the black would look good as well.

Like you already mentioned, with the low profile box the silver color will not be too overwhelming.

Now if you are looking for the box to be almost invisible, then go with the black box. The black truck with the low profile black box will be almost un-noticeable.

Hard desision, I know; I went through the same thing when I got mine and decided on the black because I didn't want it to bee too showy and I had the black step bars already.

The good news? Either one will look great!

HardcoreHehaw , let me know what kind of toolbox you come up with . I've also got an supercrew and I've been wondering what kind of toolboxes would fit in the bed.
Also I like your tire and wheel combo could you tell me the size tires and rims you have and also what type of lift you have. thanks

Have you SCREW guys seen the "Slim Line Series" boxes?

They are only 12" front-to-back instead of the standard 19". Only problem is they are not available in low profile.

Low pro.

I just got a Delta Champion low profile a couple of weeks ago and it looks great. I haven't had the chance to take any pics yet, but I will post when I get the chance to snap some shots. It's been rainy here the last two days straight.

I got a black Delta gulf wing tool box. I love it! Its made out of structural foam which is basically indistructable, it will never sag and you can stand on it to wash the top of your truck. I came with notchs all the way across the inside so you can make partitions and it also has a nice sliding tray. Its quiet and low profile, which was important to me because I have a rear power slider.

I bought the thin or slim top that sticks up about 2" and it looks great. I thought I would have better access from the ground with this one and it doesn't block any of my rear view. Aluminum UWS held in by J-bolts.
