1998 smoking on start up after using seafoam
I have a 1998 4x4 4.6 v8 and I just got the truck and I seafoam it through the intake manifold and now it's been a month and it let's out a smoke cloud for 2 or 3 seconds and my coolant isn't leaking and my oil isn't burning it has 200,546 miles I only drive it on the weekends and the only problem I know of is i have a break fluid leak has anyone else have this problem

Putting Seafoam in the manifold like that breaks up a lot of carbon deposits and sends them through the engine. It can clog the cats.
I've thought about putting FI cleaner in the manifold maybe an ounce at a time and doing it on a regular basis but I haven't tried it yet. With carb or throttle body fuel injection, cleaner in the gas would keep the manifold clean but with port fuel injection the manifold gets carboned up mainly from the egr. Direct injection makes it even worse because the intake ports and intake valves get carboned up. That is a problem that Ford hasn't dealt with yet except that some of the newer engines are getting port fuel injection as well as direct injection. I've read that BMW came out with a procedure that involves removing the intake and blasting the intake ports with crushed walnut shells in order to clean the carbon off the intake ports and backsides of the intake valves.
