I know i Know it didnt happen if there arent any pictures. well beleive me, by the end of the day there will be several before and after shots from different angles to help anyone who may be hung up about purchasing these mirrors. Also i may go ahead and do my turn signal to running light conversion today, but i may wait awhile because i just wanna get these things on the truck. it will be a few hours because im in class right now, but pictures will follow!!!

The instal looks like it should be fairly easy, but i will try to get pictures of doing at least one side and a tools list. it should be the same as installing different factory mirrors.

on 97-98's the top corner of the door pannel is a separate peice and gets popped out

then this little cap comes off to allow access to the bolt that holds the latch handle on

then this peice needs to pop off

then the pannel lifts up. i just let it hang, but it is probably a good idea to unplug the wires. then the little grey plastic cover peels off revealing the mounting bolts (11mm). then the plug comes apart (sorry no pic) and you pull very firmly on the mirror and the wiring harness and it will come out. putting it back together is just the reverse and the whole thing took me maybe a half an hour. i didnt have any wiring in my door for turnsignals so right now they dont do anything, but soon i will be hard wiring the lights on the mirrors into the running lights.

there is the finished product, enjoy. questions, comments, concerns are all welcome.

I got them on ebay. the seller is option racing. the set that i got is the most expensive set with turn signals and power glass for 216ish. then shipping was 25 bucks for ups/fed ex. the cheap set with no turn signals and manual glass is around 150 bucks. and then the different options will vary the price between those two.

They aren't as ugly as I thought, but they do look pretty tough. I bet if somehow the top portion could be gloss PTM'ed that would help out a bit. Got any pics of the reflection from the drivers seat?

no not yet i dont, i kinda just hopped in and went, i will try to get one tho. The driver side isnt bad to get used to (only took about ten minutes), but i still havent figured out a good place to set the passenger side my biggest problem is setting the blind spot mirror at the bottom.

And you are right, they need to be able to be PTM'd or have a cap like the factory mirrors have. I think the black on black evens it out, but im not sure if another color could pull it of. I think for like the dark maroon you would almost have to PTM. Maybe someone could play with photo shop with some different colored trucks to see what they would look like?

I really like the style and design of the towing mirrors but I have to be honest and say that they do not compliment the truck. They just don't fit the body style IMO, you have gone from mouse ears to elephant ears. However I bet they will make towing and manuvering a trailer alot easier.

My F-550 firetruck has the lower blindspot mirrors set at the rear tires. I'm not sure if its personal preference of came from Ford that way, but it help when backing up and clearing curbs while in turn

Yea, they will grow on you. From what i can tell the fit seems good, the quality seems good and the view is awesome. You get one big mirror and then about a 2 inch tall blind spot mirror that is independent of the other glass.

personally i like how the mirrors look, but i relise they arent everyone's cup o tea. In the end, with this particular truck Function is more important than form and these mirrors meet that.

I sure can't argue with that logic. On both my "1997" and my "2000" I mounted a 4" round black convex mirror under each factory mirror. It looked a little bazaar initially but boy did it enhance the rear view capability's
