looks like you have an el-cheapo

check the lines that connect to the intake I almost guarantee tehy are cheap and collapsing - get some better lines or just do the gotts mod and return your CAI

I guess that is what I get for going cheap... The old saying you get what you pay for.. I just put it back factory with the K@N filter

you can still make it work

you just need to replace the 2 flimsy lines that run to teh intake tubue

OR

you can return it for being defective and do the gotts mod since you have a K&N drop in anyway and have better performance

Those 2 hoses that came with the CAI are pretty flimsy so you think that will fix the problem??

One line goes to the driver side valve cover and the other goes to the IAC. How does that affect EGR flow? What is the code number that you are getting?

.

It should never suck in TOO MUCH air. your intake can only flow so much without air being forced into it. if your engine is still sucking air, the airflow is still fine. try those lines the other guys mentioned, then if it still does the code, just return it. or try a different filter on it maybe. preferrably K&N. maybe the filter thats on there is really crappy and letting less than a paper one would. im no expert but it seems that some good ideas are flowing to you from everyone. good luck. and if it really doesnt work, do the gotts mod.

If you have a vacuum leak you get a code P0171 and/or P0174. These are lean bank codes. To much EGR sounds like the DPMS unit is bad.
