ford d plan ?
#4
you better believe there is a HUGE difference. Take it from someone that was in sales at a ford dealership for 5 years. A and D plan is a ford employee plan only. X plan is a friends plan. On the average it is about $1500-$3,000 difference. IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE. The only way you can get a d plan is if your buddy has his name on the title work. Then it is legal in fords eyes. Believe me here.

Ford's documentation.
A Plan is Dealer price + D&D + $75 admin fee + finance charges.
D plan is Dealer price + D&D + $100 advertising surcharge + $75 admin fee + finance charges.
X plan is a Dealer invoice - 0.4% discount on Fords and Mercurys or + 0.6% premium on Lincolns plus a $75 Admin fee.
Plus whatever rebates are available at the time, I don't really think there's spittin' difference between any of them. A or D plan will get you a better price, I dunno if it'd really be worth fighting for though. I might be wrong; maybe someone better versed in sales (paging 02Supercrew4X...) can break it down better than I.

Another thing you hit on is that an eligable person has to be titled also. But only for the first six months, how they check this I don't know.

Not that this will solve this argument, but I get D plan all the time. I looked at a truck a few weeks ago and was given the dealer sheet, here's what it says.
Total Vehicle Price....$37,930.00
A/Z Plan....$32,526.50
D-Plan......$32,626.50
X-Plan......$33,910.61
Please don't argue these prices, the paper is right in front of me as I type this and I checked it over to make sure I didnt type it wrong.
