Good news for Ford fans. An independent study reported in the Detroit News says new pickup buyers are ready to embrace Ford’s all-new aluminum F-150.

And most folks don’t seem to care if their truck is made out of aluminum or steel, as long as it still gets the job done right. The study was conducted by UBS, a global research firm that interviewed 800 truckers last month.

“52 percent of pickup owners who intend to buy a new truck in the next 12 months said they’re extremely likely to consider the new aluminum-body F-150,” the newspaper reports. And another 30% were somewhat likely to purchase one according to Dow Jones Business News.

The new aluminium F-150 weighs nearly 700 pounds less than the 2014 model. That’s a good start and hopefully it will translate to better overall gas mileage too.
