It was a tough one for all the racers for rounds 7 and 8 at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. It was hot and the racing was hotter with door to door bashing and all out racing!

Could the Ford Raptors take the heat of the June weekend in Utah or would the scorching dirt put a stop to Ford dominance? Let’s recap the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Rounds 7 and 8!

Pro 2 class would start both rounds off and on Saturday, Brian Deegan led the field to the green flag. Deegan wouldn’t look back as he would lead flag to flag, but it was probably best that he hadn’t.

Behind him, the drivers would swap positions lap after lap and while Rob MacCachren would be the closest to Deegan’s door, Rob Mac would end his day early due to mechanical failure. RJ Anderson would be the only other Raptor on the podium for Round 7.

Round 8 would play out differently with RJ Anderson taking an early lead, but a flat tire would give it to Rob Mac. Rob would lead the rest of the day while Bryce Menzies and Brian Deegan would battle for the final two spots on the podium.

It was looking like Deegan would take it, but a power play by Menzies allowed him to pass Deegan on the final corner. Round 8 in Pro2 would be all Ford Raptor!

Round 7 for Pro4 started off with Ricky Johnson taking the lead at the very start! However, after Corry Weller rolled his truck, a red flag would force a restart. When they restared the race, Kyle Leduc showed off his racing heritage and took over the lead when Johnson rolled his own truck!

A caution late in the race bunched up the field, but Rob Mac couldn’t make anything of it and Kyle Leduc would take win number six!

Round 8 would not be a great race for our Raptors as Rob Mac had taken the lead from Carl Renezeder early in the race after Carl went two-wheels up in turn 4. That same turn would take Rob Mac out of the lead just a few laps later but he would return to finish in third.

Kyle Leduc would then take the lead from Doug Fortin when he went two wheels, allowing both Leduc and Ricky Johnson to pass him. Ricky and Kyle fought for the lead, Kyle would not allow Johnson to pass and would go back-to-back once again this season!
