This is a Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller. The stock plastic snap-in bracket is great in this truck. It squeezes in the hole, then "snaps" in firmly behind the lip of the pocket. No screws, no worries. I drilled a 1" hole in the back of the pocket to pass through the wiring harness. Tekonsha makes an F150 plug so no need for wire splicing. The harness on my truck was just forward and above the diagnostic plug.

Here it is finished. I'm a little disappointed in the fact that its crooked (note the gap on the right hand side) but it was unavoidable. The dash curves out on the right, and I was unable to move any more to the left or it would interfere with the shifter. Non-4x4 or electronically controlled 4x4 shouldn't have that problem. This setup makes a nice tight fit. I put little rubber feet on the top of the CB to prevent scratches, then I had to push the CB into place (pushing against the black lower trim) to get it to fit. Really solid. Supported in the middle with the bracket, and top and bottom wedged by the dash.

I simply used self-tapping 3/4" screws. Keeping it this low on the dash will also hide the screw holes if I ever remove it. Notice how I had to cut the lower black trim panel for clearance.

Here is the roof-magnet-mount Wilson 1000 antenna. I could have made a better ground plane if I had moved it forward about 10", but I have two reasons for putting it here. 1) I'm planning on a utility topper/cap for this truck, so I'll ditch the magnet and drill a hole in the cap to mount it, and 2) If I don't get a topper, I'll be hard-mounting this antenna to the roof of the truck. If that happens, then I'll move it forward a bit when there isn't a cable flopping around on the roof.

Here is how I routed the cable. The grey/black window surround is made of fiberglass, so I simply used a drill bit to notch out a hole for it. Then I removed the silicone grommet that holds the wiring for the bed lights and 3rd brake light and slit the top of it so I could lay the cable in there. Then I reinstalled the grommet, and running the cable was super simple. I just reached up on top of the headliner, took the cable to the passenger side, then tucked it behind the weatherstripping at the top of the doors. I did that all the way to the front, down the hinge pillar, and up under the dash. The rest is a couple zip ties under the heater box.

The CB is a PC66XL with hot finals, peaked and tweaked. It puts out a peak of 40w, but realistically more like 15-20 bird watts. The mic is a Road King and it is so far superior to nearly anything else. Leave's my old Astatic mic in the dust.
