This forum is pretty slow as of late... Let's make sure we stay on topic and not go the General Discussion route.

ha yep i've noticed, and to keep this thread on topic i guess i should put a question in it.
So how many of you guys actually go to the limits on the trucks towing capacity? tells us what you've towed and pics are more than welcome.

Butterfingers!
I'd hate to mow that lawn when you was done roofing.

I bought 50 lb box of fencing staples in 1992.
The box still weighs about 38 lbs.

They were on a pallet in boxes. And I am still finding roofing nails with my truck tires from the reroof I had done on my house five years ago.

My work truck...

I'll play...

Here is my truck towing about 7500 lbs. of boat and trailer:

and here it is hauling 1 1/2 yards of mulch this past spring:

oh and here it is hauling some firewood this past winter:

I work my truck a lot, I just don't always think to take pics and when I do it's with my crappy cell phone.

That is oak loaded on the bed to give you some idea of how heavy the load really is!

Interesting thread here but I vote that everybody go back to giving Shifty hell for overloading his truck. It's become a custom around here plus it's just plain fun to do.

By the way (and back to this thread) I try not to go to the max on payload or pulling capacity on my '06 F150 with a 5.4/3.55 rear gears/towing package. I'd rather haul in two loads or just get a Super Duty.

I have gone slighty over on pulling capacity but only twice totaling about 90 miles. The truck seemed to handle it better than your average 1/2 ton pickup.

Am I as naughty as Shifty? Yes and no...I've overloaded the crap out of 1/2 ton pick-ups before but I haven't done it to this paticular truck I drive now.

Most I've ever done was about 2.5-3yds of mulch for work.

Here's a couple pics of it after I had unloaded some already:

Most i've had in the bed was around 1.2k lbs of a tree the day after I got the truck. Unfortunately the pictures got lost with the old phone. Haven't had much close to that so haven't taken pictures of anything else when its loaded down.

When I'm at my farm in Ocala, my bed is usually filled with gas cans, tree limbs, or whatever else I can think of. Down here in Orlando, I'm the only guy in town with a truck it seems, so I've been getting calls all the time the last few weeks helping people move.

I had a similar load on an older 150 and busted the back window when I had to stop sharply.... I said a few bad words after that incident.
