Which color rims?
Which color rims?
I bought this old truck a few days ago, and think the rims are ugly. I just ordered a set of chrome trim rings, but can't decide on the color of the rims after the beauty rings are attached. I have thought of leaving them red, paint them white, or paint them black. Any suggestions. How about silver?

It's an 81 F-150 Ranger. It has all the goodies that were offered back in 1981 such as power windows, cruse control and such. The old truck only has 35 grand miles on it because it was garaged for all these years. Thanks for all your information and ideas. I think I am going to put the chrome rings on it and stand back and look at it with the red still on there, but I think you guys are right. The white wheels will enhance the white from the top to the bottom. I will get back with you to show you both the red and the white, but I think it is a go to put the chrome trim rings on it no matter what color the wheels are.
I vote for white too! Your old truck looks great too! Post some pictures when you're already done with it.

Yep, definitely white with chrome trim rings & center caps. That'll look sweet with the deluxe two-tone paint and the deluxe (Ranger/XLT) trim package on the truck.
Those look like factory Ford "wagon wheels". You can get the chrome center caps from the dealer (and maybe still aftermarket too)...the same centercap was used on the various factory styled steel wheels and aluminum "modular" looking wheels from 1980 all the way up through the '96 trucks.
