Goodyear Wrangler MTR
#16
I ran 305/70/16 on my 99 f150, the price was high, and they wore good, I did have a small bit of tire rub on the inside against the sway bar. I did find they wore front end parts out faster than most tires because of the air pressure and the tough side walls, I found that Trail Marks in 285/70/16 rode alot better on bumps. But if your lookin for off road performance the MTR is the way to go.

Glad to hear you guys are going with the MT/R's!
Up here in snowy Canada, the mt/r's are working well. On snow packed streets in town they do just fine. Put it in 4x4 and off you go!
However, the way these tires look in the 305 is worth everything!

josho66,
No dumb questions! As the size of your tire increases, they rotate slower for the same speed achieved. Thus, your spedo will read SLOWER then you are actually going, so be careful! I've found with my GPS v/s my Spedo, with 285's, my F150 reads about 7% slow. With 305's, you're looking at 10+% (easier to calculate at least!). With 305's, if you're spedo reads 70, you would be going roughly 77mph.
Hope that helps!
Peter

I have a question....
What are you all doing for a spare? I hear you can't get a 305 underneath the bed due either to the overall diameter or the section width. Are you keeping your stock spare. I'm hearing it will wreck havoc on your differential in the case of you having to run your spare of a different size in just a few miles.
What is everyone doing out there if they get a flat in one of their big ol' tires?

I believe you have heard from me before and I am very happy with the tires. Initially I wanted an AT but BFG nor GY made them in the 305. So I took the chance and went for the MT/R and don't regret it at all.
