Changing wheel size

I own a 2001 F150, 4.6 V8 5speed. It came with stock 17's on it, and I would like to change them to 16's or 16.5's. Can I put 16's or 16.5's on without changing anything.

make sure the rims are the same bolt pattern and make sure they'll clear your brake calipers (since you're going smaller than factory).

I just went from 17s down to 16s about a week an half ago. No problems at all. I am now running 285-75-16s and love 'em!
