Angry Tire Stains From Balancing Clips

I have a new ( 600 miles) 02 Super Crew that all four tires (stock General tires) have stains below each of the balancing clips. Before I go back to the dealer, I wanted to see if anyone else had this problem and what the resolution was to it.

Thanks in advance!

Are they the plain lead weights. You may change to the coated type.

You can have the balance weights put on the inside of the wheel, leaving the wheel clean and undamaged as they seem to do over time. It costs a little more, but worth it.

You might want to try some extra fine 00 Steelwool. It won't scratch your wheels, and it'll take off the black grime marks.

If you get them static balanced, the weights will not touch the tire, just the wheel.
