Toyo Open Country owners...now that you have more miles....

How are they holding up? Tell me how you're liking them?

Thanks.

A local tire dealer suggested the Toyo Open Country which I now have on my F150. I now have 10k on them and I am very disappointed in several areas. 1) They ride rough. 2) Apparently hard to keep balanced. 3)Terrible wet traction, especially when turning.
These TOYOs are definitely the worse tires I've had in quite some time on anything. They are the 4th set of tires on my F150. The first two sets were the Goodyears AP, and the 3rd set were the Pirelli Scorpion ST. The GY were very smooth, wore well and got good mileage. The Pirellis were exceptional traction in all weather but due to a bad ball joint, they wore quickly and mileage sufffered. But the Pirelli were the best looking of the group.

I would definitely buy the GY and Pirelli again but NOT the TOYO.

BTW: I have another F150 with GY AP on it. Again, great tire. I have just bought a set of Lightning rims for the F150 with the Toyo and as soon as I take delivery, the TOYOs are history.

Not open country but what DonnyD said, the Toyo’s I just put on my L (Proxies S/T which are V rated) were doing fine until rain, not fun (hydroplaning)… I had looked at the Pirelli Scorpions and was talked out of them by a local tire dealer… Don’t do it! I too will pull these things off SOON and go to the Pirelli, good luck…

Anyone in Cali need a used set of 305/45r22 with less than a thousand miles, going cheep?

Have about 12k on my Toyo Open Countries and "still" like them. Haven't had any problems at all in wet conditions and no problems at all with wheel balance like some folks have said. Much better then my old B.F. Goodrich AT's (so far) will have to see how they fair during the winter months.

Well finally got to try the Open Country out in 8" of snow. They performed great. Even took the truck out to do some cordwood cutting off-road and had zero problems with traction in the white stuff.
