Thumbs up

Back to the original point about a FWD pickup..

I've heard front wheel drive is going to be an option in the '04 model. The are going to leave the drive-train all the same, except where the rear differential is - that is going to be replaced with essentially a 180 degree U-joint (lubricated for life, of course). Then there is going to be another drive shaft (right next to the one that is there now) that will run all the way to front axle and terminate to a differential housing there..

I think it should be a really interesting option..

The key to driving on snow and ice is using your head. If you just use a little COMMON SENSE then you will have no problem.

zbeast , maybe you should stay away from the snow and ice!!

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

DC Larson:

"I like going into empty parking lots after a fresh snow....gives a guy a chance to see what his outfit can do! And it s Fun. It's a lot easier gettin off a good brodie with limited slip than without!"

Oh ya, that is a blast. It is a great place to really learn your truck, or for that matter new car and how it will handle. I am taking my daughter to a parking lot when it snows so she can learn and see what its like under control and out of control and not have to worry about any damage to the truck.

I do remember one time last winter sitting at a stop light and a ricer reving his engine so I figured I'd give it a bit more gas then normal. Well, the limited slip worked and had two nice roster tails coming out the back and no lie about 10' tall. I don't think the guy behind me liked it all that much it sure piled alot of snow on his hood.... oops

Rear Wheel Drive and 800 lbs. Lighter

Isn't this going to be a major traction problem, especially in bad weather? As it is, I add 400 extra lbs. in the winter just for the traction.
