New tires and gear ratio question??
I am going to be putting new tires on my truck. It's a 98' F150 XLT 4 x 4. With a 3.55ls. The stock tires size is a P255 70 R16, Goodyear wrangler. I was thinking about going to a BFG AT KO 265 70 R16. I know that it will not affect the gear ratio that much. As I do tow a 20' bass boat just about every weekend.
What I was wondering is. If I went to a 265 75 R16 on the stock rims. Would that affect my gear ratio much more?
Thanks for you help.

At the Michelin site, you can look at the # of rotations per mile for any of their tires.
Here is for the LTX MX
http://tires.michelin-us.com/catalog/tires/ltxms.html
Download the tire specifications.
According to Michelin, the 255/70/16 takes 694 revolutions per mile. The 265/70/16 takes 681 revs per mile, or less than 2% difference.
The 265/75/16 takes 658 revs/mile, or about 5.2% less than the 255/70.
Running 265/75's with the 3.55 would accelerate like a 3.37+- gear with 255/70's.

Hey dawg
You will be fine and will notice very little difference. I have the same truck but I went to 285's and tow a 20ft seadoo jet boat, 4 place snowmobile trailer etc... There is very little power loss and same for the gas but my speedo is about 10% off now (70 is really77).
