Tire Sizes

I have an F150 4x4 Flareside with the stock 235x70x16 tires. I cannot find anywhere that states what size tire I can go to. What are the stock size wheels (width 7.00 inches?) and what size tire can I get on them?

I had a really good belly laugh a couple months back when I saw a bunch of F-150 4x4s sitting at a dealers lot on these tiny little 'car size' tires. This was at the height of the firestone recall and I guess they had trouble finding the BFG LongTail in the OEM 255/70-16 size and didn't want to go up in size.

I think all of the 16" OEM F-150 wheels are 7" wide. You have many choices but I would suggest 265/75-16 as a minimum towards filling your wheel wells.

I have seen F-150s with 285/75-16s mounted on the OEM 16x7 wheels with no problems although some tire dealers will be reluctant to do so as the 7" wide wheel is a little narrow for most tire manufactures approved rim width.
