Emergency brake light

Emergency brake light

My emergency break light doesnt' come on anymore when the e-brake is on. I am over due for an inspection & think i need this to pass.

Mine doesn't always come on either. I'm thinking that there is a loose connection between the E-Brake pedal and the instrument cluster.

I wish that I could tell you exactly where it failed but it's way too cold here to remove any dash panels looking for it.

Sometimes it works and other times not but there doesn't seem to be any logic to it.....

If yours stopped all together, it may be a simple as a burnt out bulb.

Probably just a bad switch on the e-brake pedal. I don't think the light is required for inspection as long as the e-brake works. At least i never pay attention to the light when i do inspections. BTW, i'm in NY, your state could be different.

Thanks. Today its working so i went & got an inspection. (still wasn't sure if I needed the light to pass)
