Thumbs up

Like night and day!

I just know my current tires are siped from the factory. They really do make a big difference. I have to really "work" at getting them to spin on the wet stuff now.

To answer your original question, no i'd say $125 a piece is not a good price... TireRack has them for $80 each (for a 275/60-R17)
Discount used to be only slightly more expensive. I could be wrong, but I believe Goodyear is fazing the GTII out. They are no longer available on Discount's website, and are on 'sale' at TireRack. For all the complaining on the traction you always hear on the GTII's, personally I don't think there all THAT bad. I'm just about to replace my second set of them and they've done just fine. I got about 45,000 miles out my first set, and they do look pretty good. If your going to shy away from the GTII's for close to the same money, I'd agree the Falken ST/Z is the way to go... If your willing to pay $150 a tire consider the Dunlop Sport Rover GTX... From what I've read this tire rates ahead of everything else... (Check out the different ratings on each of the tires on tirerack.com) Toyo Proxes are a good choice aswell. Nitto makes a truck tire now, and someone mention wishing Yokohama made a tire for a 17" rim - They do, I believe its called the AVS S/T or something (although rumor has it they get pretty noisy with some miles on them.)

Exclamation

The AVS/ST's definitely get very noisy, I never felt so ripped off. Sounded like a set of swamper tires at any speed above 20mph. For the price, you'd think they'd have better engineering than they do. The GT-II's are quieter, but nowhere near the traction of those noisemakers. ,,,,98

Wink

Better hurry if you want an old set of GT-II's, I just saw the "new and improved" Eagle GT-II's at my buddys' shop. The tread design is a little different, but the sidewall and shoulder are really different. They are also (get ready for this!) V speed rated!!! Hopefully they used a softer compound to achieve this, which will mean more traction......YESSSS!!,,,,98
