Factory tires 235/70r17 to 265/70r17?

Hey Everyone,

My 2007 F150 came with factory 235/70r17 tires. As I understand it, the number 235 represents millimeters in width. All tire stores say a 265/70r17 tire won't fit my truck.

Is the only difference between the two tires only 30 millimeters in width? My truck from the factory seems to have a lot of room for a tire with only 30 millimeters added width.

At any rate, shouldn't this upgrade work? What do you think?

Dave
