Wheel spacers?
I used some adapters to adapt a 4 lug '69 Volkswagen Beetle to run some 14x6 Pontiac steel mag style wheels ... or to wear Chevrolet 14x6 steelies with some tri bar spinner SS wheel covers. One lug was an offset like stud you threaded into the car hub first, then slid the adapter with 4 studs over it, use 3 lug bolts, then the wheel, then 5 lug nuts. 4 pulled on the three studs in the adapter held on by 3 lug bolts in the hub, and the 5th was direct vie the offset stud tom hub. I never had issue with them.
I took two steel disc, 1/2" thick and welded 5 old lug nuts in a 5x4.5 pattern, which I had drilled. Used 3" long 7/16 threaded rods to thread into the axle hubs and mounted the new wheels with bigger tire on my Wheel Horse about 25 years ago.
I took some 1/2" aluminum disc, drilled a 4 lug pattern in them and put longer Morosso 1/2" studs in the axle ends to space the wheels out so the tires fit closer to the fender opening of our Gold Wing Trike.
Smooth, no vibes, never broke either.
