Sidebiters TPMS questions

I have a 2016 Roush F150 with Roush/Mickey Thompson wheels 20x9 +18mm offset and 305/55/20 Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ tires on it, the tires are pretty awful in the snow, turn the truck into a big ice skate. Also I would like to keep the Roush wheels in good condition so i am putting together a winter set of tires and wheels.

The wife picked out the MT Sidebiter II wheels, 20x9 0mm offset, so they will stick out 18mm, not a big deal, but I can't find a for sure answer if they will work with the TPMS, Thought id see if anyone here had them and how they worked?

Also, you guys find any good winter tires int he 33'' range? I don't usually run a specific "winter" tire, I have been running the Toyo AT2's on a few different rigs and my Duramax for a couple years, those will be my go to if i can't find something better, I am thinking in a narrower 285/60/20

Any help is appreciated

Thanks,
Mike

The TPMS sensors are vehicle-specific, not wheel-specific.

Correct.

Some aftermarket wheels specify if they are compatible with with a tpms sensor, some don't, or are not. I think its the way the wheel is designed, if there is room for them. These wheels do not say. I don't want to buy them and have the TPMS not fit.

Worst case, just cover the light with tape when the winter wheels are on.

I talked to Mickey Thompson on the phone, after they did some digging and called me back, they do in fact accept TPMS. been a while since i updated the post, got some tpms from rock auto, alot cheaper than the dealer, they quoted me $320 for 4 of them, had them wrapped in some blizzak's, got them bolted on. didn't need the tpms tool i bought, drove it a mile or so and it learned them itself.

Most newer wheels accommodate those pesky TPMS sensors.

I have a set of steel rims for my '07 Jeep Compass that has winter tires and I elected not to buy another set of sensors.

I'm old (and I'm a youngin' by comparison to some folks!) enough to realize when a tire needs air by a lot of factors, not by some idiot light.

Agreed, i do not need a light or warning to tell me that the tires need air, but I absolutely hate lights and warnings on the dash, drives me insane. this is my wife's truck, My truck does not have them.

I just looked inside one of the wheels on my Ford. The TPMS looks like it should fit on any wheel. The current generation of TPMS mounted on a valve stem is different than when the sensor was mounted to the wheel.

nice, yeah they're working so far, the ones I have were even smaller than the black ones in the pic, and I've never seen one banded to the wheel like that

Ended up with a 275/65/20, its a little tall, it rubs the front mudflap a little bit, but otherwise, so far so good

The first TPMS sensors were banded. They are all on the valve stem now.
