Offset question

Which one of these will stick out past the fender the most? I think the +15 will and I estimate the difference to be about 1.09 inches between the two. Does that sound right?

KMC Slide
Wheel Dimension Offset Backspacing
22x9 +15 5.84
22x9 +38 6.75

I have seen pics of a F-150 with the +38 but still looking for a +15 with street tires so I question whether I understand the measurement correctly.

The reason you haven't received an answer is because google is a click away.

The more negative the number, the more it sticks out. So yes, +15 will stick out more than the +38. It won't be bull dog stanced however. For that the offsets usually need to be 0 or more negative ( -12 ). So no fears in that stance.

I looked on here and did the settings quick.
https://www.customwheeloffset.com/ti...et-calculators

The +15 on the 9" wheel is 5.59 they claim, and on +38 is 6.50. So the +15 would stick out .91".

A more quick remedy is to use the offset numbers. If you use the offset sizes & subtract 15 from 38, you get 23mm offset. Then go to google and search for MM to Inches calculator and insert as appropriately and you get the result of .91". .

Thanks for the info. I think I did too much searching actually. I found some that said positive stuck out more and some that said negative. I visited more than a couple of forums and websites. I think enough to make me question what I thought to be correct.

I guess maybe I was looking to hear they would fit too now that I think about it. Love the wheels and the tires I have chosen but since they are being shipped ready to mount along with the TPMS tool I didn't want any surprises. I plan on doing all my mods in 1 weekend for a sudden transformation and having a stupid mistake on my part hinder that would have just ticked me off.

Thanks for taking the time to clarify, it looks like the +15 is the way I want to go afterall.

Sounds good. Verification is always comforting, I understand that completely. Is this going on a leveled truck or a street truck? My +18 wheels were pretty level with the body. So much that I bought 1.5" wheel spacers to get the bull dog look I wanted. This is with 295/60 M/Ts.

Mine will be a street truck. I ordered the wheels and such today. I ordered alot today actually. I have a thread in the 09-14 forum with all that I bought. Gonna do a "mod weekend" and do everything at once for a dramatic instant change in look. I can't wait.

I love your truck. That is what I wanted of my 2008. But, I got a regular cab and treated her well until I traded her in. It was harder to do than I thought it would be. I just hope nobody local buys her. I would hate to see her being beaten and abused by someone else. Is that weird? lol

Not weird at all man. The first brand new truck that I ever purchased was a 89 GMC Z71 stepside that was cherry when I traded it, we as a family just out grew it. The guy who bought it took great care of it and I just about bought it back a couple of years ago just for nostalgia sake but had a kid ready for college. Now I see it on occasion and damn near cry, whoever got it has completely trashed it. I put allot of hours, sweat and busted knuckles into that truck just to have some turd treat it like an old beater.
