When raising the front of the truck, what size tire?

I'm 2wd and put 4x4 coil overs on the front. This raised the front of the truck 1 - 1.5"

Obviously the angles of the ball joints, etc are a little more severe.

What size tire will it take to get them closer to factory levels?

Stock 2wd tires for my truck are 235/70/17 (30"). Stock 4wd tires for my truck would be 255/70/17 (31").

I currently have 245/70/17 (30.6").

A stock 4wd tire being only half an inch larger doesn't seem like it would put factory angles on my control arms.

What would you recommend? I don't want my wheel wells to look stuffed or you lose a lot of mpgs.

Thanks.

You should be able to fit up to 33x12.5 tires with the proper backspacing. a 295/70R17 tire would fill it out nicely

Tires aren't going to affect your ball joint or tie rod angles. That's controlled by the suspension. And your angles shouldn't be that bad with only that amount of lift, you can go up to about 2.5" before they start getting to the point of them being severe.

Can't say I really understand back spacing.

Anyway, I'd like to go with the smallest tire I can that will simply lift a bit of the droop from my control arms. They're not insanely severe and I have mood grease able ball joints, but I'd like to be safe.

I was thinking making a 31.5" tire. That should help a little, right? And I don't need to worry about back spacing and all that? Since I have 4x4 since coil overs in the front and stock 4wd blocks in the back, I'm pretty much at stock 4x4 hight.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks. Guess I figured a little taller sidewall would raise those angles a little. But if not, I'd just go with a 255/70/17.

Whatever you do, don't stuff your wheel wells with tire. That looks horrible.

Trust me, I agree. As I said in the first post, I don't want my wheel wells stuffed. I won't go bigger than a 31.5 inch tire, but might just do a 31" instead.

I had 265/70-17 tires on my truck when I had the rear dropped 2" with shackles. 31.6" tire, which is the same diameter (305/40-22) I run with my 2/4 drop.

Pics to give reference.

Looks good. I appreciate the pic reference. I think 265/70/17's would look good ok my truck. I have a ton of wheel well space right now.

Yes and it's a common size which makes tires a little less expensive.

Here's a pic of my truck (link below, on my iPhone and it won't let me select the image code).

Currently has 245/70/17's. 4x4 size coil overs and a 1 5/8" rear block. Since the 1 5/8" rear block came from a 2005 and I have a 2008 (pre 06 had 4 leaf packs and after had 3), I think I'm going to add a 2.5" block for just a little more rake.

Thanks! I appreciate your help. Could other dumb questions, if you don't mind?

Michelin LTX AT2 tires, any thoughts on them? They have a really deep 17/32 tread.

Load range E, is that going to feel really stiff?

Lastly, a 265/70/17 and a 245/75/17 are almost the exact same hight. The 265 is just wider?
