305 or 315 ?

Question 305 or 315 ?

I am looking at getting some new ProComp MT's after my 3" body lift is installed, and I was wondering if anyone had any input as to which size would work better for my application. Keep in mind I'm also sportin' the v6. I'd love the 315's but I'm afraid they will rub, or my truck will hardly move w/out a regear. Thanks for any help!

good question

I am planning on doing the 3 body lift also(in 3-4 months).This same tire dilemma is buggin me.I do plan on putting on the goodyear mtrs though (wallmart sells them and they will put them on laway,along with wheels)) I really want the 315s but I know my little six can't handle them without a gear swap.The 315s are not supposed to rub at all.I used one of those calculator things on another site to figure it out and here is what I came up with. Stock tires are 31(255/70/16) and my gear ratio was 3.55.I put 265/75/16s (32s) on it about 2 months after I got it and that moved my gear ratio to about 3.40ish,acceptable but a small decrease in performance(especially on hills).Going up to the 315s(35s) would effectively lower the ratio to less than 3.10ish wich would make the truck a total dog. The 305s(33s) would put it 3.30is. I might be able to live with the performance loss of the 305s but I don't know how bad it will be.If I can find sombody local that will do the gear swap (a friend just had his buddy put 4.56s and a locker in his jeep with 35s,maybe he can get his buddy to do it?) I will swap out the gears for either 4.30s or 4.56s (I don't want overkill just enough to bring it back to the stock ratio) Does this help any?
Anyone with pics of 3 inch body lifts and 305s or 315s lets see some pictures!!!!!!!
