Need Help with Tires

My husband has a 2006 F150 King Ranch with a lift and 33x15.50 Mickey Thompson Baja Claw Radials. He is in need of 4 new tires, but Mickey Thompson does not make that size tire anymore and has discontinued the ones he currently has. Does any one have any suggestions about what brand is as good or comparable to the Mickey Thompsons? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to keep him from having to buy new rims and tires, Rims are 18in. Thanks!: usa:

ill be honest that is a very unique looking tire and a unique size. that being said ive always loved the look of the baja claw. anyways, no version of the baja claw is made in that size, no version of the m16 is, nor the mud grappler, nor most major mud terrain brands. if he stepped down to a 13.5 inch wide tire then that is another story, but im sure that would take away greatly from the current look of the truck. post some pics if you can, id love to see it!

oh and plus one to you for getting on a forum, my girlfriend just laughs and asks if im on my dating site again haha

It looks like he's gonna have to step down to a 13.50" width or if he has the room for it he may be able to go to a 35x15.50". Do you know what the width is on the wheels he has now?

Thanks so much for responding and I will take browine points where I can get them so thanks for that too. LOL
And yeah I figured it would be something like that. I searched the internet for days and could not find them and finally called MT customer service and they could not find anything comparable.
Now if he went to 13.5 width would that require a new rim?
Also, how do I post a pic? It tells me I need a URL address, can I just attach them to the reply?
Description of Truck:
Black with tan trim, lincoln grill, bush guard, huge tires, fab tech lift kit, and million mile air intake? These are things I remember that stick out to me, hope it makes some sense. LOL

He currently has the 15.50 width (from my understanding) and has had to have some of the under part (excuse my lack of terms here) shaved down so the tires would not rub when he turned?? LOL, I am prob not making much sense, I'm sorry. I am trying to upload some pics but I cannot figure out how and yes I am blonde. LOL

no youre making sense. with tires that wide he definitely had to do some trimming. what pizzaman was wondering is how wide his wheels are, not the tires. that will help determine if he can step down to a 13.5 or not.

for the pictures you either have to upload them to a site like photobucket, then attach them, or you can upload them from your computer to your "garage" on this website. to get to your garage simply click on garage in the black bar going horizontally across the screen where it has all the links for new posts and search, etc.

Ok, I understand. I'm not sure about how wide the wheels are. How can I tell? My husband thinks he will not be able to go down to the 13.5. Trying to post pics now.

Let me know if you can see them.

Ask him what wheel's he has, and we can try to go from there. Also some manufactures will stamp the wheel width on the inside of the wheel if he wants to take one off and check that way. If they're 12" wide then he can drop down to a 13.50". If they're 14" wide he can't. And sounds like since he already had to do some trimming with those jumping up to a 35x15.50 isn't gonna happen.

Here's the pictures for you:

Pizzaman - Thanks for posting the pictures. He has Micky Thompson rims/wheels as well. I am thinking the 13.5 will not work. UGH. Thanks so much for all of the help. Any suggestions on other brands to look at. His suggestions are BF Good, Toyo, and Super Swampers? Any thoughts on those?

What does he use the truck for? Heavy off road? Just daily driving?

The wheels are Mickey Thompson classic II's, some good news is while those are discontinued the only ones I could find were 10" and 12" wide in the 6x135 bolt pattern, meaning a 13.5" wide tire should be doable.

Otherwise if he still wants a 33x15.50 he's going to have to buy new wheels too because no one else makes them for an 18" wheel. Or he can add a bigger lift and go with a 35x15.50.

Ok, soooo...
This is what I have found so far. The ONLY tire that will fit what he has is a Super Swamper SX. They are kind of pricey, which most of the tires are, but here's my question.
At this point would it be more feasible to just go ahead and purchase new tires and wheels in a smaller size so he will not have this problem anymore?

He does daily driving mostly and I did not see your post prior to making my last one. And you pretty much confirmed what I asked, NEW tires AND Wheels. I cannot thank you enough for all of the help!!!

For daily driving stay away from super swampers, the ride isn't very good, a lot come out of round meaning they're hard to balance and keep balanced, and on the street he'll be replacing them after like 20-25k miles.

I agree. THe Super Swamper SX is a terrible choice for a daily driver. They are a steel beleted bias ply tire. This means you will have problems with flatspotting overnight and wandering on the highway.
