hey guys new to site have went thru post after post and still not clear on this....here is my issue....have a 06 f150 4wd ordered a 2.5 leveling kit ready to order my tires/wheels have been looking at 18" wheels... leveling kit guy said i could run 35/12.50's with this set up talked to a guy at rimzonline today he says no way... read post after post some say had some rubbing some not, im gathering offset makes big difference anyone with same setup with suggestions on offsets or tire sizes would be great had a guy tell me go to 325/60-18 would help rub ??....shooting for 1.5-2" outside the wheel wells... thanks in advance for advise
As a general rule with a leveling kit on the 04-12's, you can fit 35x12.50's using the OEM wheels or one almost identical (like an 8 inch width with 5.5 inches of BS) or 33's using wider aftermarket wheels. A 9 inch wide wheel with 5 inches of BS is really common (and would stick out 2 inches farther than stock) and allow you to easily fit most all 33's, like the 325/60-18 (33x13.00).
Here is mine with 17 x8 wheels with the 5.5 bs wandell refers to. Tires are 34.5 x12 and zero rub without trimming. For 18 x9 wheels you would need positive 30 or so offset and around 6 inches bs to fit 35s without major trimming. They won't stick out much. If you want them to stick out go with a lower offset and 33s.
