1992 Brake Problems
I have a 1992 F150. When I push the brake pedal when stopping it comes to a full stop then the pedel goes straight to the floor. I also have almost no stopping when going in reverse. There are no signs of a brake fluid leak. Any Sugestions? Thank You
Rear drums, right?
Check the rear axle for bad seals, could be saturated shoes in the rear.
Also could be badly out of adjustment on the rears.
The pedal going to the floor is most likely a bad master cylinder that is leaking internally.

IF i remember right, my '88 had rear only anti lock brakes i remember my anti lock control module mounted under drivers side on frame went bad and caused a loss of braking.
traded that truck back in '97 so it's been awhile - hopefully my memory is correct on that one....

Might want to check the adjustment on the rears one more time, then bleed the snot out of the system.

I have a similar issue to yours. I just drove my '88 F150 for the first time in about six months. It started right up and ran like a new one just like always. I drove out of the garage and found the brake pedal has very little power and goes right to the floor. I pumped the pedal a lot but it didn't change. I checked for visable leaks at the wheels and the master cylinder is full. The truck does stop but only about the last inch or two of the pedal actually applies braking power, and it can be easily pushed to the floor. I thought it was probably the master cylinder, but the above post about the rear anti-lock as me thinking of other possibilities. I also noticed that if the truck is not running, the pedal pumps up and gets very hard. Start the engine and it's back to soft. Any ideas?
