Question Tire Max Load? Etc.

Ok i know that the L's come w/ Goodyear Eagle f1 295/45/18's. But after looking at tirerack.com it said its "Max Load" was 1819 lbs. Does that mean that your truck cant be more than 1819 lbs or is that max load that can be hauled w/ tires? I dont have a Lightning, but i have 18 x 9 wheels that going on my 98 reg cab style side. Will it be dangerous if I use 295/45/18's or will it handle the weight of my truck? I'd wouldn't mind getting 285/50/18 being that its almost an inch taller and nearly the same in Section Width 11.8" vs 11.9".(I figure it would fill my wells a little more.) But not sure if i will have steering probs w/ my 2/4 drop.(Max Load for 285/50/18=2271 lbs) Please any info will help.

Thank you

That is the load rating of each tire. So, number of tires x 1819 = maximum weight (based on tires). Axles, springs and other components may have different, more restrictive, ratings.
