Painting Rims

My rims have some serious curb rash(not from me of course) and I don't have the money to buy new ones. I have 22" polished aluminum. Is theree anyone out there that knows what'll happen if I take a wire wheel to them to "fix" the rash. I'm thinking I can repolish the aluminum add some black paint to certain areas and clearcoat afterwards. Suggestions

My last gig was at an Infiniti dealer. ALL our cars had aluminum wheels with a silver/clear powdercoated finish. Twice a month a guy would come out and repair the road rash wheels for the used car department, and customers cars that made an appointment. Try doing a search for something like "rim doctor" or "mobile rim repair". Seems like he would charge $80-100 a wheel.
