Unhappy front steering/brake problem

My lifted F150 has started sounding like a train/grinding when I turn left, not pressing the gas pedal/just rolling along, and when pressing the brakes. My brake fluid is full and my brake pads just got replaced (it was doing this before they were replaced as well. My mechanic friend replaced them a week ago, right in front of me. He said the original pads weren't worn alot.) It's still making this noise and i don't know why. Someone from home (im in the military) suggested it could be the front axles or a wheel bearing gone bad. My friend suggested it might be the roders needing rotation/filed down. What do you suggest? Thanks
