looking at tires, need some input

Ok, need some input on new tires for my 2001 4X4, leved. I’m looking to upgrade to a larger size tire from the stock 265/70/17. I currently have BFG KO’s and I’m thinking of a new tire, maybe try something different. Here is what I’m looking at but can’t make up my mind.
Nitto Terra’s in 295/70/17, Toyo open country AT 285/70/17, Wild Country XTX 285/70/17,BFG KO’s again in 285/70/17. I’m thinking about this along with load range so I can still tow the camper without issues. Thought about a MT but I don’t use it off road enough and don’t really want the road noise. Any thoughts or comments on these tires would be helpful. I’m really leaning toward the Nitto’s but I have gotten Excellent mileage from my BFG’s (almost 80,000). These are going to be on the MB Chaos 5 wheel in 17x8.5 with -6 off set

Had the Terra grapplers in 285/70/17, just make sure you get the e rated if 285/70/17. I had p and they wouldn't have lasted as long as the e rated. The e's start with more tread. The 295s are only offered in d which also has more tread. I just switched to falken wildpeaks and have been impressed so far with them. Fairly inexpensive and get good reviews.

Ok, looked at the Good year DuraTrack today, same price as the BFG, they look a little agressive, Can anyone tell me how the road noise and tread wear is on them?

I have the Duratracs on my jeep. I have driven probably around 7000 miles with them, and they seem to be wearing very well...lots of life left. In winter, they are awesome!!! I haven't engaged 4wd at all this winter. They're great in the mud and sloppy stuff. As for noise, it has a little bit of whine, but not as much as you'd think from a tire this aggressive.

terra grapplers i ran a set of 295/70 and 305/70/17 on my 2003 fx4 f150 and loved them, now i have 295/70 trail grapplers only because i got a great deal on them because they were used and only had about 2000 miles on them. But when it comes time for new tires i will go with terra grapplers again

trail grapplers, How is the wear on the tread doing and how much road humm do you get with those? I'll be towing trailers too, not often but... how do you think those would hold up?

for the 295 terras they on have them in load range D so I'm wondering if that will hurt any when i tow

the 295 terra grapplers load range D wouldnt hurt, i dont think youll tow enough to be in any danger, not with a half ton. a friend of mine has a 1999 f250 powerstroke he has 305/70/16 D range on and pulls his 5th wheel and other heavy loads with.

the trail grapplers are wearing very well and even. i only have around 10 or 12k miles on them and havent noticed any irregular wear. hum, not very bad unless you turn the radio off and are driving on smooth new road. otherwise the hum isnt very noticable BUT i dont need MT's so ill be going back to AT's after this set..but they do make my truck look rather mean if i do say so myself

EDIT: but the trail grapplers are 10 ply tires and i never pulled my 26' camper with the terra grapplers

made the decison this week, couldn't pass up the price from discount tire. Nitto terra's in 285-70-17.happy with them so far, whole lot less road noise than the BFG's i had on there. but the BFG's with 80K on them.... hard to switch tires to something new....
