Wheel Spacers?

Wheel Spacers?

2010 Lariat 4x4 with 20 inch OE rims leveled with 2.5 inch AS front and 1.5 inch rear blocks. Tires are Nitto Trail Grapplers 295x60x20.

Tires are too close to upper control arms about .5 inches space

Does anyone have or recommend wheel spacers? I am thinking 1.5 inches.

I would like to continue using my OE 20 inch rims as my truck is silver and matches the rims perfectly.

Wheel spacers or wheel adapters that provide a spacer ? Wouldn't use just spacers unless you replace the oem studs with a longer one or you won't have enough thread to be safe.

As for the adapter spacer, many will tell you not too but I've used them on my 05 for the last six years and for many years on my Jeeps. Just make sure to buy quality that are hub centric for proper fit and torque them often when new, just like new rims. I take mine off road during hunting season and pull trailers/boat all year and have never had issues.

Not sure the specs on newer trucks but I had to stick with a 2" due to oem stud length, the 1.5" would not let the spacer fit against the rotor properly, my only other option to use them was to replace or cut down the stud.

You mention 1.5 rear blocks. The truck came stock with 1.25 inch blocks... did you stack the new 1.5's on top of the factory blocks, or replace the factory with a 1/4 inch taller block? Please tell me you didn't stack.....

Thanks for the advice Dog'em. There is a site called motorcitybolton.com that has 1.5 inch wheel spacers built to the exact hub bore and stud thread size of the 2010 F150. I was thinking these may correct my problem.

Sorry for the confusion. I installed the Auto Spring kit that has the 2.5 inch front and the 3 inch block in back. I replaced the OE block with the kit block to gain the extra 1.5 inches in the rear. This allows for a slight rake in the truck after the kit is installed. I had the truck realigned to very near factory specs and the truck rides and looks great except the slight rubbing.

This is why I am thinking about wheel spacers.

Spacers do exactly the same as negative offset wheels. As long as the spacers are well built and correctly installed, it is just like installing wheels with a high negative offset. However, it does obviously put more stress on the wheel bearings which will most likely shorten their life.

Spacer's aren't worth the risk. Seen a guy snap all his studs because of the stress on them. He used the 1.5" cheapo's.

I don't see the problem. You say you have about 1/2 inch of clearance between the tire and control arm. That's probably a little more than I have on my Expy.

Are you sure you are rubbing? I run 295/70/18 Trail Grapplers on a leveled '10 with factory wheels, and I get no rubbing. I realize you have 20's but the tire width is the same.

Any chance you are noticing the traction control kicking in, and confusing it for tire rub? If so, there is a TSB fix for that.

Are you positive you are rubbing?
