17" 7-Lug Wheels...Looking for Alternatives?

Hello,

I'm about to recieve my new 2012 Ecoboost Lariat with HD Payload Package that's equipped with pretty good-looking 17" 7-Lug alloys...that will work perfect for towing, but not the coolest wheels out there...

Wondering if anybody (Tire Rack?) knows who might make 19-20" hot 7-lug alloys...which I would then put winters on...and use 5-6 months of the year (when I'm not towing)!

Thanks!

Hahaha no, not really. I have an 05 XL HD with the heavy duty drive train components, and there are really no good options that I have found (and I've looked pretty well).

If I remember correctly, centerline and maybe American racing make 7lug wheels, but they won't clear the massive brakes on my truck. Not sure if anything's changed since then as far as brakes go, but I've been told that my truck has super duty brakes? Anyway, the only real option to get nice looking rims is to have them custom drilled.

I'm interested to hear other's thoughts...

Fuel had some 7 lug wheels. Eagle use to make some, but not sure if they still do.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but i recon i've never knowingly seen a 04-012 body styles with 7 lug. How are these models badged? I've seen several '97-03 versions around, but no 04 up. thanks..rossford

My 05 XL Longbed has them. To the untrained eye, you couldn't tell any difference. Stance is taller, suspension is harder, steering feels a bit different, but otherwise you wouldn't know the difference until you really start to work it and use all the HD components. Or go to fill it up with gas. It's got a huge tank (36 gals). Except the ride is really rough with nothing in the bed. That could just be the 8 ft bed though... Not sure, but my buddies SCREWs are not as rough as mine. When mine has a few hundred lbs in the back, it rides like theirs...

No badging like the older "7700's" (It was 770, right? I'm not sure )

For those wondering, here's the '12 7-lugs from the dealer brochure. Definitely better looking than the 7700 series wheels.

Heavy-Duty Payload Package - Increases GVWR to 3720 kg (8200 lbs) for improved payload and towing; includes 17" 7-lug steel wheels: LT245/75R17E BSW all-terrain tires; heavy-duty shock absorbers; upgraded springs and radiator; auxiliary transmission oil cooler; and rear axle with 9.75" gear set and 3.73 limited-slip gear ratio (Regular Cab and SuperCab with 8' box, or MidBox Prep Package with 5½' box; restrictions apply)

Personally, I've never understood why Ford went with 7-lug rims. If they want to offer basically an F-150HD, why not make production simpler and tooling costs cheaper by going straight to 8-lug wheels?

I don't see any prices for those stock rims... the Aftermarket ones are cheaper

lug size/thread for 7700 series 7/150?

OK, I am a new owner of a 7700 series. I found a set of wheels and they are headed my way. Now the next question is what size lug nuts do I need to find so I am ready when they arrive? I see there are common threads of 14x2 and also 9/16th...any ideas which size would I need?

Great site BTW...
