Trail grapplers: road noise?

Ok this will be my last post about tires before I pull the trigger on what I'll buy. I have an 09 lariat 4x4 with level kit and 20" wheels. I really want the nitto trail grapplers but a lot of people are complaining about loud road noises and vibrations at low speed on street use... I was hoping to get some of your experiences on this tire like interior vibrations, tread wear, performance, how loud the road noise is(will I have to turn the radio up loud not to hear the tires), Balancing or alignment issues?

This is all street use, travel 20 miles a day

If it's all city driving they'll never warm up enough to quiet down like they do on the highway. But you don't get enough road noise to matter until you get over ~50 mph.

Road noise is definitely noticeable vs. Stock tires. My old lady notices, but doesn't complain about it. My magnaflow SIDO exhaust is louder, and makes it much less noticeable. The overall look is well, well, worth the extra noise. Besides that, pedesdrians can hear ya coming, and tend to get outta the way quicker. :-)

They are one of the quietest tires for how aggressive the tread pattern is. Not saying they are going to be totally quiet, but compared to other tires such as the mud grapplers, they are a pretty quiet tire.

I bought a set of Trail Grapplers for my 2009 FX4 and drove them for about two days. The highway noise was more than I could handle. I sold them and bought a set of Terra Grapplers. Much quieter. Since I do most of my driving on the highway, there is no way I could live with the Trails. The Trail Grapplers look cool, but totally impractical unless you are using them for off road.

Noise is really what you can handle. I have Terra grapplers because trails werent out yet and they are quiet but also an all terrain. wear good..
Trail grapps, i love em. they have some noise, but not enough for me not to buy them again.
They are an MT so thats the trade off. In these trucks the sound dampening is pretty good and the noise isnt much to me. But like whaler said he coudnt stand it. If noise is even an issue in buying a good tire then id stick with an all terrain because you noise tolerance is probably a lot lower then mine

What year is your truck mine is a 2009 and I wonder if I have the same sound Dampening set up as yours. How loud would you say you have to turn your radio up to not hear road noise, 1/4 or 1/2 the volume? I'm trying to find videos of the noise going from 0-60 and back to 0 but I can find anything. I like these a lot I just don't know about the noise.

If Your asking about road noise compared to stock tires....the answer is simply yes. I've got 10k on mine and wear is even, they balance well, they handle pretty good in the rain and in the mud i've never gotten stuck (tho i have had to use 4x4 a few times). Whether i buy again will depend on how many miles I get out of these tires. If i dont get these again it will be the terras. Cant go wrong with either and they're made in the U.S.A., always a plus

I've only had mine howl really loud like a real M/T once when I first installed them... Aggravated the hell out of me... Haven't had that happen since. I can hear them but it's nothing that would make you not want them.... They are great tires...

just got mine last week and so far I can't complain at all. shop had to use balancing beads instead of the weights so it cost like 5 bucks more but at least there's no wobble or sway. road noise isn't real noticeable until you hit the highway, even then it's the quietest MT i've heard around.
I will say though, if you never plan to go offroad/mudding/etc, you may be better suited for the terra's. The AT might be a better fit if you're strictly street use. (The trail's just look soo damn good though! ha)
