4" lift, wheel and tire question

I'm buying a 2007 F150 since my 2002 was destroyed by a drunk driver in front of my house. My 2002 has a 3" body lift with 315/75/16s and I thought the lift was too low and tires too big. I'm married now with a young son so I have to settle down a bit with truck mods but I'd like to do a 4" lift and keep the stock 20 inch rims. If I got some high quality 2" spacers and installed them right would they look okay? Also, I want a smaller tire than the 315s but I don't want them too small so any suggestions on size? I'd like to have the tires as small as possible to help with power and gas but not so they look stupid. I'd also like to keep the stock rims. Let me have it guys?

Thanks

Rancho makes a good 4" lift that allows you to use stock wheels, so I would go with that lift. The spacers would look good, but I would go with a smaller spacer to be safer. If you do any wheeling, wheel spacers will be a weak point on the truck. With a 4" lift, you can put on 33x12.50s and that is about as small as you could go and still look good.

I'd stay away from wheel spacers.

A 2.5" leveling kit and 33s are your best option.. A 4" lift with 33s will look too small. I have 33s and no lift or level and hate how small the tires look! If you really want the 4" lift, i wouldnt go any smaller than 35s but they will hurt your gas mileage...

i'd level it and do 33"s on the stock 20s, or 4" lift (RANCHO!)and 35"s....then do aftermarket 20s, and i wouldn't run spacers, especially if have a family

I would run a 2.5" leveling kit with a 305/55R20, which is a little taller than a 33. More like a 33.5

I had Rancho and 33's on my 07 f150 and thought it looks great.

The last one is just a 2.5" leveling kit

Buckshot85,

The last pick with just the 2.5 level what size tires and rims are those? My 2.5" is schedule for install on Friday. I really wish I could do a 4" with 35s but don't want to deal with all the hassles that come with it.

You can fit 35's with a 2.5" level with the right backspacing. I rubbed a lot with a 2.5" level and those rims. They were 18x9.5 with 4.5 Backspacing -12 Offset hand to trim some metal and a bunch of plastic. I had xd monsters before that they were 18x9 with 5.71 Backspacing and +18 offset with no problems. Tires were 33.4x12.8

^every truck is diffrent actually, i trimmed a little pastic and fit 33" toyo m/ts on 20x10 with 4.7 backspace and -18 offset i didn't need to grind metal, but for sure wouldn't fit 35s

if the op were to get a 9" wide wheel and 5" of backspace he could easily fit 35s

Do you guys think an 18x9 inch rim with 18 mm offset would work with a 4 inch lift either rancho or rough country?

IMO with a 4" lift 35 is min. with the 2.5 level 33's just get by, i have that setup and the tires look small. I had a lifted truck before, i was 25 so it was cool to have, now im 40, ride comfort and gas mileage are more important.

I was quoted a price of around $2100 for a BDS 6" lift installed out the door. Is that a good price? How much less would a 4" kit be...or should i just stay will a 6".I was probably going to run 35s anyways. just wanted to save some $$$

I'd take $2100 out the door anyday for BDS. My Rancho alone was 1900 just shipped
