Tire pressure question

I just got new tires put on my truck and I felt that the tire shop didn't put enough pressure in them. They only put 35 PSI in them.

My truck is a 2002 F150 FX4 single cab short bed. (5.4/4WD)

The tires are Cooper Discoverer ATR LT265/70R-17/E1 121R

http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...=TCNINT&cs=265

After doing a search on here I went ahead and put 45 PSI in them, but would like to know what is correct for my truck. There is no minimum pressure rating on the sidewall, only max. Thanks!

80 PSI is the max. When I left the tire shop I could tell they didn't have enough air. With 35 PSI they were very squishy.

Between 40 and 45 should be fine for you. If you do a lot of hauling then you could run 50-60 depending depending how heavy the loads are.

It does not matter what the sticker says as he changed the load range of tire that came on the truck.

On your Coopers, 45 should be fine for an unloaded vehicle. Do not go below 45. When loaded, I would put them up to 50.
