It does seem to have lost some "oomph" when accelerating. I wouldn't say it is straining so much as it just feels like it is starting in a higher gear. I don't know if that makes sense.

I have been thinking of getting a programmer also. If you don't mind, let me know what you think when you get you tires.

Thanks for the info. I am putting my order in for a Gryphon tuner and will order tires soon. They will go on my FX4 rims which are 18x7.5 I believe. Is that the same size rim on your F150? I thought about after market wheels but I like the look of your factory wheels with the trail grapplers so will keep mine for now.

Yes my rims are the same size. I need to see what my gear ratio is. Maybe Its just my old age (31 hehe ) but I just couldn't find a wheel that I felt looked right on the truck. I would like for the tires to have a little wider stance though. I am not sure how I feel about wheel spacers.

Larger tires make the OEM wheels look a lot better and keeping them tucked in the wheelwells keeps the sides of your truck happy! Look's great

I just got a 2006 4x4 super crew and I'm thinking of putting 18x9 Jester Ballistic rims on it. They have a 4.5 backspace cause I want to stick out just a little. I also want some good tires that are not too beefy but not street tires either. Any suggestions.

I always liked the BFG A/T. I know many here run the nitto terra grappler.

Those will stick out quite a bit compared to stock. Being 1.5 inches wider and less backspacing I bet they would stick out 2.5 inches or more than stock. All depends what u want. I like mine tucked so they don't fling stuff into the truck and the closer the specs are to stock, the easier time u will have fitting bigger tires. Are u planning on going with the 295/70/18? Even with the stock wheels and level kit, they seem to be pretty tight.

Update on these tires. Initially I stated they did not rub. After driving on them for a few weeks I have noticed some rubbing. Seems to rub ever so slightly at full turn either LT or RT. Looks like its rubbing on the lwr control arm. Nothing to worry about as it is very minor and I rarely am turning full tilt anyways.
