Wheels and backspacing

Hey guys I have a 2wd 1998 F150 that I am putting a 3" lift on. I have recently purchased 4 285x75x16 Nitto terras that I have mounted on stock rims. However I am looking at a set of ION 171 alloy rims. Anyone know anything about these rims? Also the backspacing says 4.25" and an offset of -5. What does this mean and will this work for my truck?
Thanks Guys

Your OEM wheels are 7 inches wide with 4.5 inches of BS. How wide are the ION's?

The 16x8's will stick out 1 1/4 inches farther than your OEM wheels. That is what I'd go with on a 4x2. You didn't say what type of lift you have, but all of the lifted spindles for 4x2's increase the front track width. This is why most everyone uses 8 inch wide wheels on lifted 97-03 4x2's. Most lifts for them will cause a 10 inch wide wheel to stick way, way outside the wheelwells up front.

Offset and bs are just too different ways of measuring the same thing.
