trying to decide on new tires
Im going to be purchasing a new set of tires, along with a 2.5" AS and 3" rear block, here in the next month or so. i want to go somewhere between the 33.5"-34.5" range. I know there will be some power loss with larger tires, but there any need to regear with larger tires? Also, anyone have any opinions on BFG AT vs Trail Graps vs Duratracs? Those are the 3 tires i have it narrowed down to.

You wont have to regear if you don't tow a lot you can also buy a programmer and change the shift points to help with the bigger tires. BFG is always a good tire nitto trail graps are very popular around here they will come highly recommended and I have no idea on the duratracs
Interesting that you've narrowed it down to a BFG AT and a Nitto MT (for all intents and purposes the Trail Grapp is a Mud Terrain) - I have used quite a few different tires in my day and after blowing through a set of famous BFG AT on my stock 03' Grand Cherokee 4x4 I was disappointed to say the least. I am pretty religious with rotation and VERY religious with pressure and what I found out is that the BFG's just "aren't what they used to be". Especially considering the price...
Fast Forward to my 05 F150 4x4 HD and a set of 295/70/17 Nitto Terragrapplers and I can honestly say they right there with the BEST tire I have ever run. For a truck that spends 80% of the time on the street, they are remarkably quiet and just as smooth as OEM stuff (Just ask PawPaw lol) - My truck is pretty heavy and I tow an 8000lb Toy Hauler and I'm at 43k miles with no issues. This set is gonna see the other side of 50k easy. I'd say the BFG AT is a hair bit better off road as far as pure traction, but what the Nitto makes up for in everything else is absolutely worth it. I am going to a more aggressive tire after these, I've sold the Jeep and this will be my hunting rig. So I am grabbing a set of Trail Grapps for sure

thanks for the input guys. ill likely be going with the nittos unless my tire guy can get me a great deal on the others. I like their aggressiveness and they do seem to well reviewed on this site. now ive got to decide on 305/55/20 (33.4X12.6) vs 295/60/20 (34.45x12.13). Im worried the 305s may be too wide even with stock wheels. should i be ok with either of these sizes?
just got nitto trails last saturday when I installed my lift. very quiet and awesome looking. We had a HUGE storm last night and flash flood as I was driving home from work. My trails didnt slip once. I was very impressed especially beecause I was purposly gunning it to see how well they handled lol.

I ran the 285x65x18 Nitto Terra Grapplers on my 09' F150 for 45K miles. These tires never disappointed. I wanted something a little more agressive, so I replaced them with Cooper ST Maxx. So far, I am happy with the Cooper. Hopefully they will wear as good as the Nitto.
