Will these fit?

I am currently running a set of 285/70/17 BFG AT's on my 2005 STX 4x4. The wheels are 17x9. I am getting a 2.5" leveling kit and was wondering if I could fit a set of 35/12.50/17 Cooper STT's.

No. To fit 35x12.50's with only a leveling kit you will need to use the OEM wheels or one almost identical (like an 8 inch wide wheel with 5.5 inches of backspacing, which are rare). So, you will need to add more lift or stick with 33's.

Just to try and help Spencer out, what is the biggest u think will fit without too much trouble, he said on another post his wheel specs were 4.5 inch bs and -11 offset. U think 315 or 305/70/17 will fit or stick to 295/70/17?

I'd stick with a 305/65-17 (33x12.50). If you could test fit a 305/70-17 (34x12.50), it would be cool to know if they fit but I really doubt it.

He said his dad either owns or works at a tire shop so maybe he could do that.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm thinking I'll just cough up the extra money and get a 3" body lift. I really just love the look of our trucks with the 35s. If money gets tight I can try a couple different sizes and I'll let yall know the highest size that fits. My dad owns a tire store so it makes it easy to get tires and try different sizes.

If u are willing to fork out the dough for a body lift and your dad owns a tire store, why don't u just trade in or sell your current wheels and get different ones that would work for you to fit the 35s? I have vtec raptors from discounttiredirect.com and they were 119 each. They are 17x8 with a +25mm offset and 5.43 inches of bs, so are nearly identical to stock, so wheels with the needed bs are out there. Just an idea. My next set I am eyeing 315/70/17 which are 34.3 by 12.3 or so.

Thats a good idea! I actually hadn't thought of that. It's difficult to find someone to buy a set of used wheels. I'd like to have them sold before I got another set just so I'd know how much money I had to work with. Seling the current wheels and buying new ones plus the leveling kit may come out close to the same price. I'll have to do some number crunching. Thanks for the idea though! it gives me a few options now.

And hopefully your pops would hook u up at cost. When u have close to enough saved up for the wheels/tires try and sell your current wheels and tires on Craigslist. Hopefully u could get enough out of them to cover the cost of the new wheels, and then you were already planning on the new tires so it would be a wash, where u still only have to pay the cost of the new tires.

Luckily he's paying for the tires.I'll have to pay for anything else though. I found a 3" body lift and gap guards for about $440 total. That's the cheapest one I've found. I may just go that route because I really just don't want to mess with trying to sell my wheels. I wouldn't get much for the tires anyway. They're about down to the wear bar.
