I have also heard that the Nitto AT and Toyo AT are produced from the same manufacturer, just Toyo pays to put their name on it and is more pricey.

Also I talked to my tire guy, and it looks like I'll be going with the Kumho Road Venture KL78LT tire.

I made sure I'm getting the one with the more aggressive looking sidewall like the pic

Not even close. I work for Goodyear, and that looks NOTHING like the Wrangler SilentArmor.

I have to agree with the last post. I just purchased the Cooper ST Maxx. So far I like them. I wanted something a little more agressive then the Nitto Terra Grappler, but not too agressive. Noise level is fine. Now to see how they wear.

Nitto and Toyo tires are produced from the same manufacturer; however, Nitto tires are made from a slightly softer compound than Toyo. As a result, the tread life of Toyo tires are typically a little longer.

not bighorns! ive heard nothing but bad about them..there isnt really much offered in a 295/70/17..i ran the same size till i moved up to 305-70s

EDIT:i mounted a set of 295/70/17 hankook AT the other day, they look good except the sidewall looks goofy.

Cooper STT has a great review and they are a good tire. Also the TOYO MT is probably my favorite tire and it lasts up to 50,000 if you take care of them.

IDK about which one is softer, but my experience has been that the Nitto Terragrappler on my truck have out lasted a set of Toyo Open Country AT's on my coworkers truck...by over 10,000 miles. Same truck, similar driving styles, both 17" wheels on 33's
