TPMS Sensor
TPMS Sensor
Anyone ever heard of a TPMS sensor coming loose and cauing a vibration in the steering wheel? Also how are they held on? Ive had mine removed and put back on stock wheels when I ran a set of aftermarket wheels. I am wondering is I have one loose? I have a intermittent vibration in my steering wheel, and I also think I can feel the sensor bouncing around sometimes.
Any thoughts?

I have the bands they were on with the aftermarket wheels. I have put factory wheels back on and it feels like a sensor is loose. The bands on the OE wheels are still factory original.
If the sensor is loose, then it could be one of the parts that hold the sensor in the cradle was broken. More than likely, they broke anyhow when going back and forth. If they were not replaced, that could allow the sensor to come off the cradle.
Ever heard of this happening? Ive always had a steering nimble in my truck since new. A set of BFG ATs on factory 20s seems to have cured it. However I just got tires rotated and balanced and the shake is there every so slightly. Guy at tire shop said tires balanced fine. It sure feels to me like there is something loose in the left front tire.
Have not heard of a loose sensor, but have heard of the nibble. Make sure the tires are road force balanced. Even when balanced normally, they could be causing the nibble. That is why you need the road force balance, at least the first time on a new set of tires.

Yes, there are other things done other than just spinning. There is an arm that puts pressure in different spots and also checks the wheel for out of round.
